DEBUT EP REVIEW: Octopus Milk & Other Tall Tales by Rudimentary Paste

Music Review
Shelia Taylor
March 11, 2024

Octopus Milk & Other Tall Tales by Rudimentary Paste is a whirlwind of angsty, chaotic, and bass-driven post-postmodernist art-rock.

Across the four tracks, the EP serves up an avant-garde mix of noise seasoned songs that invite one into a manic and exhilarating landscape and mindscape of Rudimentary Paste. Each track offers its own unique journey, blending frenetic energy with innovatatee and trailblazing sound.

From the frenzied rhythms to the distorted guitar riffs, Rudimentary Paste delivers an experience that pushes the boundaries of traditional rock music and further pushes the boundaries of one’s thoughts. “Octopus Milk,” stands out as a prime example of the band’s bold and unconventional approach, weaving together disparate elements into a homogeneous tapestry.

Despite its brevity, Octopus Milk & Other Tall Tales showcases Rudimentary Paste‘s knack for crafting intricate and thought-provoking compositions that are daring and boundary-pushing.
