Meet Lewis Brice.
If that name seems familiar, yes, Lewis is the brother of Lee Brice. Raised in Sumter, South Carolina, Lewis upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic and a passion for music rooted in country, southern rock, and R&B. Initially drawn to the idea of becoming a chiropractor, Lewis’ path veered towards Nashville, where he found himself playing in a band called L.B. and Oak Leaf while bartending at 12th & Porter. It was during this time that he honed his skills as a performer, learning to captivate audiences with his original music during trips to Key West, FL.
On his Nashville days, Lewis says,
“I learned twenty-five cover songs. Twenty-five songs could get me through a three-hour set. I don’t think I’ve ever learned any other cover songs since then.”
But he did do a cover of the Nine Days hit “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)” featuring John Hampson and it’s rad as hell.
With his 2010 single, “Ordinary Girl”, Lewis seemingly cracked the code and followed the success of the single with a stint on CMT’s Can You Duet? and a lead role in his brother Lee Brice‘s music video for “I Drive Your Truck.” He further found international success with his song “Blessed” that took home International Song of the Year at the British CMA Awards. The praise continued with Rolling Stone and Billboard and he has shared the stage with the likes of Luke Bryan, Dierks Bently, Hank Williams Jr., Gary Allan, and Lee Brice.
Now, with a fresh publishing deal and a highly anticipated ten-track album on the horizon, Lewis is poised to deliver his most impressive music yet.
Lewis says this about the upcoming album,
“Sometimes, you have to take some different routes to get where you were always meant to go. But if it’s your passion, I think you can find the sun on the other side of the rain.”
Documenting his life’s journey, the album reflects late nights of hard work and the transformative power of love. While Lewis’ songs may explore themes of heartbreak and resilience, his outlook remains optimistic as expressed in his 2022 single, “LIVIN.”
Lewis says this on his career so far,
“I’ve always been a big believer in just keeping my head down and just grinding until you make it. What’s supposed to happen is going to happen. And at this moment, it seems like everything is starting to happen.”
Each raw and gritty energetic note Lewis Brice sings is a testament to his unwavering dedication to his creating music from the heart.
