EP REVIEW: Pool Party! by Shit the Cow

Don’t the name fool you. There is nothing shitty about Sweden’s Shit the Cow. While their name may not be radio friendly in some parts of the world, their music sure is.

The quintet is made up of Daniel Kjellberg (guitar), Peter Söderberg (vocals and guitar), Alexandra Lindqvist (vocals), Robin Lindqvist (drums), and Erik Rosenberg (bass and screams) and they’ve been crafting scrapyard rock since 2012. Shit the Cow is an absolute gnarly blend of the Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters.

Opening track, “Out of the Deal”, hooked me with driving bass and drums. The guitar and vocals were the icing on the cake and the song is a banger from start to finish.

The band’s raw authenticity shines on Pool Party! Their blend of hard rock, punk, stoner, and garage rock fill the tracks with hard-hitting riffs, relentless rhythms, and their raw energy sets the tone for a raucous sonic experience.

With Pool Party!, Shit the Cow invites audiences to dip their toes into a sonic pool brimming with infectious energy and a rebellious spirit. The EP delivers a wonderful dive into a world where distortion-laden guitars meet pulsating rhythms, creating an anthemic sound that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly authentic.
