Chris Harms, known as the dynamic frontman of Lord Of The Lost, steps into a new spotlight with his solo single “I Love You,” the first taste of his debut album, 1980 (January 31st). In this bold departure, Chris embraces the shimmering energy of 80s synth-pop and delivers a track that’s both irresistibly catchy and layered with emotional nuance. In other words, 80s perfection.

“I Love You” bursts onto the scene with infectious beats and hooks that pull you straight onto a neon-lit dance floor. The sleek synth arrangements radiate the nostalgic charm of the era by creating a sound that lives up to the 80s nostalgia while still feeling refreshingly authentic. Weaving melancholy into the song’s polished, upbeat exterior, Chris’ distinctive voice, rich with its usual depth, takes centre stage. This duality is what makes “I Love You” shine.

Chris says this of the song,

“While the 80s synth sound effortlessly creates a sense of lightness, ‘I Love You’ is, at its core, one of the saddest songs I have ever written.”

This interplay between vibrant music and heartfelt emotion gives the track its unique edge, making it more than just a nod to the past but a reinvention.

With its infectious rhythms and retro flair, “I Love You” sets a high bar for 1980. Chris proves his versatility once again, offering a dance floor anthem that is as contemplative as it is electric.
