I read a comment in the video section of “Satanized” that said ‘those who liked the Impera album, probably won’t like this song’, and I thought why the hell not? I may have not been on the Ghost bandwagon from day one and while I think Impera is a damn near perfect album that I still listen to on repeat multiple times, “Satanized” ticks all the boxes for me as a Ghost fan.
I feel it makes an evolution in Ghost’s sound. Like previous albums, Opus Eponymous, Infestissumam, Meliora, Prequelle, and Impera, there’s a natural progression of growth. One I appreciate as a fan. The band’s signature style of infectious hooks and hypnotic rhythms are there and they yet again deliver a hauntingly addictive song. The continue to channel their theatrical rock prowess with an avalanche of melodies that effortlessly capture one’s attention.
“Satanized” is catchy, perhaps a tad big unsettling with an exploration of possession and the inevitable surrender to a darker force. Their lyrics set the stage for a wild ride for a character through chaos and surrender. It’s this balance of melody and tension that draws one in with every beat as the lyrics echo the inevitable pull of the darker side of human nature.
The relentless energy allows Ghost to craft a song that, in true rock fashion, combines theatricality with musical innovation. Whether it’s the unpredictable shifts in tone or the hypnotic music, there’s always something to discover upon repeated listens. And trust me, I’ve had this song on repeat. My neurodivergent soul finds comfort and joy in “Satantized”.
“Satanized” is a high-energy anthem that seamlessly blends melody, darkness, and innovation. Ghost once again delivers an avalanche of infectious hooks and hypnotic rhythms that only Ghost can do. It proves that Skeletá, out on April 25th is ready to set a next level stage for the band and Papa V Perpetua and the new version of the Ghouls.
