Icelandic musician, Axel Flóvent, is making a summer comeback with his forthcoming album Away from this Dream, set to be released via Nettwerk on June 7th. To tide fans over until then, his latest single, “Chasing the Night,” is here to quench their thirst for new music.
Opening with infectious synths, “Chasing the Night” becomes even catchier with a beat heavy groove that could be ripped straight from the 80s.
On the song, Axel says,
“‘Chasing The Night” is about the stubbornness of not being able to stop thinking about/working on something that feels unsatisfying no matter what it is. You’re so unsatisfied with the result but also completely out of energy to make anything happen yet you still continue even though you see it get worse and worse.”
With the accompanying video echoing the feel good chorus and snappy beats, director Magnus Anderson once again captures the spirit of the song and lyrics as dancer Ahtayaw Ea moves through the music.
Pulsating rhythms and infectious lyrics makes “Chasing the Night” a pop perfection feel good song.
