In the wake of his catchy single “Tire Swing,” M. Vaughan releases another tantalising track from his forthcoming EP, Keep In Touch, scheduled for release on June 14th.
Inspired by personal experiences of helping his mother prepare for a performance and his path of sobriety, “Cold Read” is a heartfelt reflection on contemplation and transformation.
Reflecting on the creative process, M. Vaughan shares,
“The synth solo at the end was this massive cathartic release for me, I recorded it about 20 times, shoved it through a guitar amp, triple-tracked it, processed the hell out of it. I really had a blast making this one.”
Whether it be innovative production, raw emotions, or infectious melodies, M. Vaughan captures something special in each note and lyric of “Cold Read”. The song not only showcases M. Vaughan’s exceptional songwriting talent but also his mastery of sound as it gradually builds into a crescendo of soaring synths that evoke a sense of releasing what no longer serves one.
