Shelia Taylor
January 22, 2023

The 11 tracks we have at 11 this week.

Listen on Apple Music or Spotify

This week, they’re in order of the most listened to:

“A Singularity” (Re-Imagined by Carina Round) by Puscifer
From their upcoming Existential Reckoning: Re-Wired album, this song has wonderfully been re-imagined by Carina.

“The Magic Number” by De La Soul
Love, love, love this track by De La Soul. While we didn’t write a full blown piece on it, it’s always been a favourite track of ours. From their  3 Feet High And Rising album, the band finally released it for streaming services and we are very stoked for it.

“Pride (In the Name of Love)” by U2
From the upcoming Songs of Surrender album, is a U2 classic. This song will always bring tears to our eyes and the newer version more so. It’s stripped down from the original but just as powerful.

“Clocks” by Visions of Atlantis
While the entire song is fantastic, we could listen to Clémentine Delauney and Michele Guaitoli sing together all day. Read our thoughts of “Clocks”

“Same Ol’ Me” by Dierks Bentley
Dierks had us at a swampy bass and slide guitar. Read our full thoughts on “Same Ol’ Me”

“Master of the Universe” by Angus McSix
We’ll have a full piece on this song next week, but let’s just say, Angus had us hook, line, and sinker at “but I came right back, one better!”

“Hi Ren” by Ren
Sometimes you hear an artist and think, that’s it. That’s the pinnacle of all music. Everyone should quit and go get boring desk jobs. That’s what crossed our minds listening to Ren. This song is just fucking amazing. More thoughts on Ren.

“Lupines” by Krooked Tongue
This was a band that kind of left me at a loss for words in 2022, or we should say, we had a lot of words that crossed our minds, but none of them seemed right. They got there in the end and this song still haunts us and we’ve been revisiting this track a lot this week. More on Lupines.

“Breaking Point” by Prong
We haven’t been hyped for a Prong song since “Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck”. This song is a punch to the face reminder of why we love this band.

“Shallow Graves” featuring Tré Burt by Anti-Flag
The most played song from the Lies They Tell Our Children album and a favourite. There’s a wonderful fluidity between the voices and the music that just allows this song to be a slick earworm. More on Lies They Tell Our Children.

“War” by Story of the Year
The most played song of this week. We have played the opening guitar riff more than we count, watched the video a stupid amount of times, and listened to this song on repeat. It’s a fucking jam from SOTY. More on “War”.

Angus McSix, Anti-Flag, Carina Round, De La Soul, Dierks Bentley, Playlist, Prong, Puscifer, Ren, Story of the Year, Tré Burt, U2, Visions Of Atlantis, Volume Up, Volume Up Series
