ALBUM REVIEW: Find Me a Cloud by The Grogans

The Grogans, a Melbourne-based band, have been on a musical journey since 2018, boldly traversing genres with three EPs and three albums under their belt. Their musical exploration has taken them through the realms of blues, surf, garage rock, punk, and psych, reflecting their fearless approach to creating the music that resonates with them.

This fearless approach has culminated in their fourth album, Find Me a Cloud. This collection of eleven tracks floats and dances, mirroring the ethereal feeling of being among the clouds.

The album kicks off with “Hey Ma’am,” an immediate personal favourite that harkens back to the classic rock of the 1950s and 1960s. It exudes purity, fun, and boasts infectious drum beats, harmonies that go on for days, and wailing guitars that transport you to a bygone era.

As you listen, each track seamlessly flows into the next, creating a cohesive musical journey that captures the essence of relaxed summer evenings in coastal paradises. There’s a subtle undercurrent of country and western influences that adds depth to the album, paying tribute to The Grogans‘ earlier musical ventures.

Find Me A Cloud is not just an album; it’s proof of The Grogans‘ musical brilliance and their unique ability to effortlessly bridge genres.
