ALBUM REVIEW: Theory of Mind by Aeffect

Releasing Theory of Mind on their own accord, emerging UK band Aeffect have unveiled eight songs that are thought-provoking and ferociously ear shattering.

The brainchild of Mark Broster with Mike Pitman on drums, Aeffect explores the ideas of nature and consequences of human flaws. The duo partnered with producer Buster Odeholm, whose expertise elevates Aeffect’s dark sound. With Buster at the helm, the band is given the freedom to create a punishing exploration that is intense and monstrous without consequence.

Seamlessly blending primordial brutality and progressive metal heaviness, Theory of Mind reverberates and shakes with dissonant guitars, blast beat drumming, and thundering bass. The sonic onslaught not only captivates but overwhelms as it should. The primal urge within the vocals echoes throughout, spotlighting ideas such as ambition, purpose, legacy, exploitation, neglect, and more.

This unapologetic approach that Aeffect takes with their music and their fearless sensibility to tackle weighty subjects with finesse reveals them as a band to watch.
